On this calm afternoon I have noticed more about nature then ever before. Beams of light from the sun gaze over the mountains and through the clouds. The river below winds like a slithery snake. Black jagged mountains stick up from the earth. Refreshing smell of Christmas tickles the nose hairs like a feather rubbing on the back of your neck. I can taste the maple syrup from the pine trees every time i in-hail. Chirping of birds playing a song to their own beat. old dried leaves crunch from the dense wild life walking along the floor of this forest. Cool wind from the west hits my face like a small fan blowing on low. Each step soft from the soil being damp and cold like an old basement. Sight continues for miles never seeming to have an end. As i wait and watch the sun set, the light changes more rapidly then coarse of a tornado. Lights of pink, blue, and orange shoot out from behind the mountain. Life here seems to be stress free and perfect. The sights are to die for, and the weather is flawless. Standing on this bluff takes me back to being a kid. I would always make tree forts and ground forts along the bluff. This experience will never be forgotten.

very descriptive. This picture is really interesting. I really like the words you used to describe the scene. I thought i was actually there. I also like the metaphor used with the christmas sentence.

Your descriptions involving touch were excellent, but now work on the other 4 senses. Your similies seemed a little childish too, so maybe put more thought into those to have a larger effect.
